About Free File Hosting

Free File Hosting is an independent publication about storing, sending, and protecting your files. We compare cloud storage services, file-transfer tools, and the settings that keep your data private, and we write it plainly enough to read in a few minutes.

We are a guide, not a service. We do not host files, sell storage, or take payment to rank one provider above another. The name carries some history: the domain once hosted a free file-hosting service that is no longer running. We continue the name as a place to make sense of the many services that replaced it.

Our editorial standards

We read the source. Prices, free tiers, and limits come from each provider's own pages, not from memory or from other blogs.
We date what we publish. Every comparison shows when we last checked it, because prices and limits change.
We flag what we cannot confirm. When a figure could not be verified from a first-hand source, we say so rather than guess.
We do not sell rankings. No provider can pay to be named the best. Recommendations reflect what the research shows.
We correct mistakes. If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

How the site is funded

Independent publishing has costs. We may earn from advertising or from sponsored placements that are clearly separate from our editorial comparisons. Paid placement never buys a better rating in a guide, and our comparison tables stay driven by the research.
