Free File Hosting publishes clear, sourced writing about cloud storage, file transfer, backup, and file security. If you know these topics and can explain them without jargon, we would like to read your pitch.

Backup strategy for individuals and small teams
File security, encryption, and privacy
Explainers on the tools and standards behind all of the above

What we look for

Original writing. The piece has not appeared elsewhere and is written for our readers.
Facts with sources. Prices, limits, and claims link to a first-hand source, and figures are dated.
Plain language. Helpful and specific, written for a reader in a hurry, not padded to hit a word count.
No thinly veiled ads. A guide can mention products, but the piece must inform rather than sell.
Useful length. Most guides run 1,000 to 1,800 words, long enough to answer the question in full.

How to pitch

Send a short pitch to editor@freefilehosting.net with your proposed topic, a one-paragraph summary, and a rough outline of the sections. If you have written on the subject before, include a link or two. We reply to pitches that fit, and we may suggest an angle or a headline before you draft.

We edit for accuracy, clarity, and house style before publishing, and we hold every contribution to the standards on our about page. Contributions that do not meet them are not published.
